MAC has a new award-winning Chairman

MAC is delighted to announce industry veteran Keith Collins as its new Chairman. Keith started his career in 1967 as an apprentice asphalter. Just five years later, in 1972, he opened his own business – Bell Asphalt.

As owner and Managing Director, Keith has steered the Bexley-based company towards continued success and carved an enviable reputation. Specialising in high profile heritage projects, Bell Asphalt won the coveted MAC Contractor of the Year trophy this year.

The firm was commended for its sympathetic work on the restoration of the 80-year-old Thiepval War Memorial – commemorating the 73,000 soldiers whose bodies were never found after the Battle of the Somme.

A respected industry figure, Keith has been with MAC since the very beginning. He spent two years as Vice Chairman before voted into the Chairman position this summer.

Keith said: “I’m thrilled to be taking on such a vital role in running and regulating the UK’s mastic asphalt industry and am looking forward to addressing some key issues, such as finding ways for MAC members to become even more eco friendly.”
