Working closely with the clients, Lambeth Borough Council, and the designers, John Pellings & Partners, Knight Asphalte completed the renewal of flat roof coverings and access balconies as part of an extensive external refurbishment. The roof areas, which were in excess of 2,000 square metres, were renewed using a combination of Permaphalt polymer modified mastic asphalt and Kingspan cut to falls insulation. The works were completed on a sectional basis, whilst the buildings remained fully occupied. The access balconies, which totalled approximately 3,000 square metres, were renewed using Permaphalt, cut to falls Foamglass insulation, and promenade tiles.
