Poseidon Pool & Fountain, Witley Court

The Poseidon pool and fountain at Witley Court, Worcestershire is an English Heritage Grade I Listed Monument. It forms the centrepiece of Witley Court Gardens, which were designed by William Nesfield. The spectacular fountain, which features Perseus and Andromeda, had not functioned for a number of years before it was restored. Unfortunately, it was often kept in a drained state – due to water loss – until Briggs Roofing & Cladding carried out the recent waterproofing/tanking project.

The restoration work was carried out under a tent, over a period of just four weeks. The existing asphalt was stripped off before Permanite Permaphalt was laid in three coats — to a thickness of 30mm on flat areas and 20mm to the curved sides and areas of vertical detail work. The pool has been refilled and the fountain is functioning once again.
